This mixtape was a lot of fun to put together. I've never just looked for very famous versions of the most famous songs by some of the women songwriters that I research, so I was pleasantly surprised to find the task quite easy! It's a pretty ballad-heavy playlist, which is interesting when you consider that these are the tunes that women were given some notoriety for writing. I did not put them in chronological order this time in hopes that it would make the playlist flow a little better. I think this order serves the music a bit better.
Thank you for being a part of the club! Your support makes it possible to keep doing this. It's important to highlight the work women have been doing in jazz history and you're helping me document their contributions. Thank you!!
Now onto the music! Enjoy all of these incredible artists!
