  • Was a part of the Canada's first variety television show with a mixed race cast.

  • First black host of a television show in North America.

  • Is currently 102 years young.

  • Became known as Vancouver's First Lady of Jazz.

  • Remained in Canada her entire career despite being offered many jobs elsewhere. 

  • Became a member of the Order of Canada, one of the country's greatest honors, in 2014. 

  • Born Elnora Ruth Proctor
